Yes, we should ban mobile phones
Posted by: Foong in Current Events, Humour, Top Ten Excuses and TipsNo, not because it supposedly can cause cancer as claimed by the ever wet blanket CAP president Mohd Idris something or other. By the way, there are research which shows that hand phones do not cause cancers too - read about it all at the Malaysian Medical Resources site here.
My reasons for supporting a call to ban mobile phones are:
1. it would give me an excuse not to answer my mobile phone when my boss is a-calling…just imagine this scenario:
annoying boss: Why you didn’t answer your phone when I called?
me: I can’t boss. CAP said mobile phone can cause cancer and our company insurance does not cover cancer and if I die of cancer, who will take care of my family?
annoying boss: &*%$$#
2. it would also give me excuse not to answer phone calls from undesirables such as FIL / MIL. The scenario:
FIL/ MIL: why you didn’t answer your phone? I called so many times.
me: I can’t it can cause me to have cancer and then your grandchildren will be without a mother. Then how?
FIL/ MIL: Really wan ah? Aiyoh, then you better tell my son to throw away his handphone now!
3. I can save a lot of money from changing new mobile phones everytime the current one rosak or get outdated.
4. I won’t be the centre of attention when I forgot to turn it on silent mode when in movies / in meeting / in a quiet place where handphones are forbidden because I won’t be carrying one!
5. I don’t have to endure the ‘my handphone is more canggih (high tech) than yours’ talk wherever I go.
6. I won’t get strange calls from strangers speaking in foreign languages asking for some person I do not know IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
7. I don’t have to choose between DIGI or Maxis or Celcom. No mobile phone = no mobile phone bills. (I am using DIGI now by the way and it is the most affordable amongst the three)
8. I have less bulk in my handbag, meaning more room for me to put in more stuff like..err…chocolate bars…
9. I don’t have to worry about replying to missed calls, SMSes, MMSes, etc.
10. I won’t get irritated by all the inconsiderate people (like me) who forget to turn their mobiles to silent mode in the cinema, at a meeting, in religious places, etc or worse, by rude people who shout into their phones as if the other person is deaf.
Unfortunately, thanks to all those research that proves that mobile phones do not cause cancers after all, it means I do not have any excuse to get rid of my hand phone, although I do kinda like my new phone, HTC Touch.
By the way, wet blankets inclined to take this seriously, please go air yourself dry. If you noticed, this is a humour piece. This post is obviously not meant for negative people who could not recognise humour if it comes up to them, hug them, physically molest them and then, strip naked and dance in front of them. So, scram, you are in the wrong site. ![]()

The Americans were digging around a historic site site in Washington and they found telephone wires buried 50 feet underground. Next day the Washington Times newspaper headlines screamed “America had telephones 150 years ago”.
The Russians were also digging around one of their historic sites near Moscow and next day the Tass newspaper headlines proclaimed “Russian scientist found telephone cables buried 100 feet underground, proving that Russia had telephones 300 years ago”.
So Pak Lah ordered Malaysian scientist to start digging around KL. They dug and they dug and found absolutely nothing. Next day Bernama headlines read “Malaysian scientist dug more than 100 feet deep and cannot find any telephone wires. This proved that Malaysia already had mobile phones more than 300 years ago. Malaysai Boleh.”
