I need a break from my break

I extended my weekends with a two-day break and….

ended up even more tired from the four-day break from work!

On Saturday, I had to rush over to Butterworth to be a witness to someone who was preparing a will. Then rush back to prepare dinner and find ways to keep my toddler amused. I also took him to the playground since I promised to take him there whenever I am not working…

On Sunday, morning and afternoon was quite okay as I spent the morning slaving over the stove and the afternoon catching up on some house chores. Then evening, we had to attend a wedding in Tanjung Bungah.

And guess what? We bumped into Jeff Ooi who is also attending the wedding and we even sat on the same table. He didn’t stay long as he had to rush off to the Pakatan Rakyat rally at the city stadium. We got back around 11pm and my poor boy was so tired!

On Monday…huh, talk about Monday, my blood pressure also want to shoot up already!!! It seemed like the whole of Penang’s population is crammed inside ALL post offices to claim the cash rebate. All I wanted to do was to renew my Road Tax but it took me close to FIVE hours to do that. That was after I went to FIVE different post offices, only to find ALL of it jam packed with people. Craps! So, we gave up and went for lunch and then went back to find EVEN MORE people. Triple million craps. We then went up to Batu Ferringhi to pass some things to our friends.

On our way back, we stop at the Tanjung Bungah post office and find it is also crammed. Desperate and damn pissed because my poor son, who was tagging along, had fallen asleep in his car seat from all that driving around, I finally approached one of the counters not handling the cash rebate and demand that she renew my road tax because WTF! I am blardy not waiting for a gadzillion of people to take and count their cash rebates before I could renew my road tax. Luckily, she obliged and it was done within FIVE minutes.

Talk about my 5-5-5 moments!

Then on Tuesday, we took a day trip to the Taiping Zoo because my son loves zoos. We intended to go to the Bukit Tambun water theme park place but my son had a slight cold so we changed plans. The heat was unbearable but it is worth it. The smiles and happiness shining through my son’s face is worth any discomfort, tirednes, etc….

I can just see the mastercard moment:

Trip to Taiping: RM100 (petrol and toll)

Taiping Zoo entry: RM5 per adult (and my son  – free admittance!)

Happiness on my son’s face: PRICELESS

We got back around 9pm and it was time to prepare my son for his bedtime. I only had a little time to check into my blogs and then crash into bed tired and all fizzed out.

Till today, I am still recovering from the hectic long weekend I had….so, I am looking forward to this weekend when I could possibly find some time for some R & R…hopefully….(** tries to push away the thought of the three ongoing freelance writing projects looming above me**)

    Running errands
    Always make you tired
    Even the best plan day
    The effort will flow in

    Your physical body
Needs to work at its best
    Years of sweating it
    Suddenly it doesn’t know
    Relaxing in its vocabulary

    Driving long distance
Too much tension on the roads
    Eyes always stay alert
    When you have company
    You can’t stay off course
Even if you think you need a cat nap
    To rejuvenate your tiring soul

    With children
    You will feel the effect
    Running down
    Yet they don’t give up
    They carry on with determination
    Only at nights calming nerves
