Anwar Ibrahim for Permatang Pauh MP first and then PM next?

It looks like the roller-coaster ride of Bodohland’s political atmosphere is far from ending with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim intent on going back to Parliament by taking over his wife’s Permatang Pauh seat after the latter resigned from the position a mere few hours ago.

And no, it’s not merely a rumour. Here’s a news excerpt:

De facto PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim today announced that he will contest a by-election in Permatang Pauh, which will be vacated by his wife, party leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

- Malaysiakini

Things are bound to become very, very interesting in the next few months because there will be a by-election right here in the backwater kampung of Permatang Pauh on the mainland side of Penang. As all elections go, do expect a lot of mud-slinging where all sorts of name-calling will be aired and accusations being thrown at each party.

Anwar Ibrahim for Prime Minister in future?

The sleepy town of Permatang Pauh will be the centre of attention and it will probably see a sudden improvement in facilities and infrastructure by the federal government such as sudden allocation of huge funds for some upgrading project or another that is under the federal government. And then, there will also be a sudden increase in voters there too. Maybe some addition of 200-year-old aunties and uncles who are die-hard BN voters.

A by-election is going to be hotter than the general election because the whole might of the BN will be focused on that one tiny village. The sleepy supremo will suddenly be making a lot of trips back to visit the kampung and show his support. Since the BN is darn rich, a lot of funds could be poured into creating the best campaign ever.

Anwar will not only be going up against some Umno fella they are now scrambling to pick but against thousands of ghosts, probably millions of ‘investment’ and machinations ( I best not reveal here ) that may not be favourable to him.

I also wonder if this move by Anwar means he already has the numbers and he is now making his ‘move’ on his way up to wrestling the country from the grasps of BN? He did say that Pakatan Rakyat will take over by September. Will it come true? Will we get a new government as a by-product of this by-election which we are assuming Anwar could win? Will Anwar even win the by-election what with so many odds against him? Sure, he may have the support but we never know…dirty tricks in elections are the norm here.

Also, I wonder if the scaredy cats (aka sore losers) will just take the easy way out by arranging for Anwar to be arrested and charged with the alleged sexual crime? We will never know, will we? Just look at the extent of the dirt that our politicians are dealing in nowadays.

I’ve never seen so much lies, sex scandals, lookalikes, etc, etc, in the news before. There’s probably more to come.

I’m going to get some popcorn and watch the show now as it unfolds before our very eyes and as for who I support in this upcoming battle, well, don’t ask me. I’m just here to watch the show.
