I don’t understand all this fuss about fish spa when it is obviously a con job and banned elsewhere

I see fish spas are popping up everywhere in Malaysia as is usual whenever something became ‘fashionable’ or a trend and people go to these places when it is obviously a con job.For the record, the Singapore Spa Association wants fish spa to be banned in Singapore and fish spa is banned in Washington and Texas.

What I really don’t understand is what’s so great about soaking your feet in an aquarium for fishes to nibble on?

Now, it may sound all wonderful and great and interesting to have fish eating dead cells off your feet’s skin but seriously, don’t you even stop to think that you are soaking your feet INSIDE AN AQUARIUM????

Blearggh. That is GROSS. Worse of all, you are soaking your feet inside an aquarium with the residue from other people who have soaked their feet in it. DOUBLE GROSS.

Sure, the fish spa owners may say they have installed this or that pump to clean the water. Err, hello, they may clear the water of floating particles like fish shit and stuff BUT the pump do not clean the water from bacteria. Meaning, some people with skin disease may have soaked their feet in the water and then in you come and you soak your feet in the same water. That’s what I called asking for trouble.

I just don’t freaking believe that there are so many stupid people out there PAYING GOOD MONEY to get skin disease and who knows what else by soaking their feet in the same aquarium as umpteen other strangers. Just read this statement:

Ms Christine Anthony, spokesman for the Washington Department of Licensing, said it was impossible to sanitise live fish.

‘You can clean the tank, you can clean the water, but there’s no guarantee that the fish aren’t carrying something from the previous customer,’ she was quoted as saying by Seattle Times.

Officials also said the foot baths and holding tanks, because they are home to live fish, cannot always be properly cleaned and disinfected.

See? It is impossible to sanitise live fish and tanks with live fish CANNOT be disinfected.

Still wanna dip your feet with hungry nibbling fishes where people with skin diseases have left their bacteria for you? Well, if you are all that stupid. Go ahead. Enjoy the fish spa. Make the spa owners rich. While you are at it, why don’t you just get a tankful of piranhas and soak your head in it, eh? They will surely remove every single dead cell, including your dead brain.

Bunch of fools. That’s why they say, stupidity knows no boundaries.

Hahahaha…..what will they think off next. Whats wrong with the sand paper trick? It is very common in the massage shops in China to soak & massage your feet and then clip your toe nails and sand paper the sole to get rid of dead skin. But this fish thing is plain stupid. I think it is only for those with dead brain cells.

The thing I miss most of all is the old fashion Indian barber. After a haircut he would twist my neck and make that crackling sound. Very siok.

Also I miss the Malaysian barbers who dig ears and clip nose hair. In other places dont have.

I wish they will bring back those old fashion services, none of this fishy business.

caravanserai: haih…some people are really so stupid to fall for such hype.

Engineer: I will have to agree with Momo…what ‘old fashion services’? Sounds SO MUCH MORE fishy…

  • That day I went to Aquaria in KL Convention Centre. I think they also started a fish spa there! Might as well lo, since they have so many fishes in the giant aquarium. And also fish spa is trendy in Malaysia right now. haha!
