University degrees
The paper chase the parents crave
The children go for it
Will they know how to use?
In the crazy world they run along?

I learned from university streets
Honed by skills sweat it out
Learned it by myself in the toilet
It is here I read a lot

Though I got my paper
When I was at the top
Enjoying while I could
“Boss here Boss there”
But my name they forgot

I have a cousin
Flopped form 3 now a Datuk
When I went to visit my late aunty
I saw his string of credits
BA, MBA and Phd
I didn’t meet him so I never ask

It is the skills, knowledge and experience
On the job teaching acquired it through work
Universities don’t teach to the job markets
When graduates walk through interviews
They are at loss of what to say

Some are good
When coaching them through
When it is all said and done
“Dr Foong” it is still money
Lots of it to put a smile
So dream on
Think positively it will happen
Without sweating it
Nothing will be
