Dang, time sure do flies and an update on my earn money online efforts

I remember just a few months ago, I was barfing like crazy and turning green at the mere mention of food. Now, I have a huge watermelon-size belly, I waddle instead of walk and have a permanent backache. Time sure do flies and the worst of it is that I am not even remotely ready for the arrival of our new family addition.

  • I have yet to buy new baby bottles (yes, I am planning to breastfeed but I still need bottles for the babysitter to feed the baby EBM when I go to work)
  • I have yet to wash all those baby clothes
  • I have yet to vacuum and clean and dust all the baby stuffs like baby cot, baby bouncer, baby mobiles…
  • I have yet to re-arrange my son’s room to make space for the baby cot
  • I have yet to re-arrange my son’s cupboard to make space for the baby clothes and cloth diapers
  • I have yet to get some disposable diapers even though I already have a stash of nice cloth diapers
  • I have yet to visit the babysitter and negotiate the ‘terms and conditions’ and the babysitting charges
  • I have yet to pack my hospital bag
  • I have yet to decide on a name for the baby
  • I have yet to take a deep breath and relax…

Sigh. There are so many things to do and so little time. I am also currently working on a big huge earn money online project where I plan to write about 100 articles (keyword rich ones, of course) for my earn money sites to generate more clicks and income. From the looks of it, I am very, very, very far behind. I am now at 16 articles. Which means I have 84 more to go. That’s daunting. Scary. Makes me want to hyperventilate.

SO.

I hereby target to write 10 articles a day. Which means I have to produce 500-word x 10 = 5,000 words a day.

The things we do for extra income, huh?

What to do lah. I need the income for the new baby, to pay the bills, to settle my gigantic debts, to replace my current income so that I can finally be a WAHM. So many things to cover and so little time.

So, how can 100 articles earn me more online income? Well, it first involves a lot of time and effort in researching the correct keywords to target. So, let’s say, I am writing about cloth diapers. I need to find keywords that are related to cloth diapers and that those keywords are paying very, very well and that I have a high potential of earning some income from those keywords. To find out, I only need to use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. That tool is so darn useful for us to find out how much advertisers are paying for certain keywords and how we can capitalise on that.

Next, I do a Google search to find keywords that are not so competitive. This means I try to find keywords that are not so popular and yet pay well. Why not popular? Well, if, say, I target the keyword ‘weight loss program’. I will likely not get ranked in the first page of Google search for it. This is because a gadzillion others are targeting that keyword so why fight with them? So, I try to find keywords that are not highly targeted by others and to do so I used the extra Google SEO add-on in my toolbar. This is so that I can search for the term ‘cloth diapers’ and find out if there are a lot of high PR sites already targeting the keyword. If not, I know I will be able to target that keyword and get ranked in the first page of Google search.

Next comes the hard part. I will have to write the articles based on the keywords. So, if I am targeting ‘cloth diapers’, I need to find related keywords like ‘non-leak cloth diapers’, ‘cheap cloth diapers’, etc that pays well &  are not so popular. Then I write articles using those keywords. And I don’t mean just any old article full of gibberish will do. The articles will have to be informative and makes sense to readers. I don’t want my site to end up looking like spam as Google doesn’t like that. Also, if those articles are informative and useful to readers, it tends to earn it some natural links from those who liked the site. And that’s good because we always need links into our sites to rank well.

After putting up those 100 articles (if I ever manage to complete it before the baby arrives), I will still need to maintain the site by checking on the Google Adsense earnings and whether the ad format and position is suitable to get clicks. Then, I will also need to build more links to that site to get more traffic (and clicks) and to make sure my site rank well in Google search. To build more links means I will have to write more articles to submit to article sites. And it also means I need to get in touch with other website owners to exchange three-way links. All these are needed so that my site will rank well in Google search so that I can get more search traffic which will translate into clicks more than if I get regular readers.

So, yes, again, I would like to remind you that having regular readers for your site does not mean you will be earning loads of income. It is the organic search traffic that brings in the clicks. Regular readers just come in to read your site, perhaps leave some comments, and then go on. While search traffic are those who are looking for something and if they found your site and saw an ad that serves their needs, they will click on it. That’s what I call online income.

Well, better cut it short right here so that I can get on with my earn money online project! Oh, this also means this blog may not be as regularly updated.

    • Yeah, the things we do for extra income! Thanks for the guide! And I agree – a blog with lots of comments and are popular may not necessarily earn more than a blog which have little or no comments. Good luck to you reaching your 100 articles! : )

foongpc: that’s y I m neglecting this blog so much…it’s not making me money. My earn money sites literally has no comments but loads of clicks. I think I will have to cut down the number of articles at the rate I am going.
