The effects of staying home for too long…

Although my two-month maternity leave is up and I am already back at work, I am still suffering the after-effects of having to stay home with the kids at home for two whole months.

I tend to..

1. Respond to everyone with ‘Why?’ as a direct influence from my pre-schooler who will ask why to every statement, every question, all the time…example:

Boss: Can you please do this?

Me: Why?

Boss: Because it needs to be done.

Me: Why?

Boss: Because it is important

Me: Why?

Boss:???…

2. Forget to comb my hair before leaving the house – heck, who combs their hair if they are gonna stay home the whole day?

3. Surf the net aimlessly when I am supposed to be busy working – uh-huh. Really. I used to be SO hardworking. NOT.

4. Wait for the baby to wake up to feed her – errr….now, it’s waiting for time to express milk to store for the baby.

5. Want to go out, go anywhere,  shopping or whatever and do not feel like staying home – it’s the wanderlust in me speaking loud and clear. I can NEVER be confined at home for long. I guess I have to make up for the two months of ‘jail’.

6. Plan lunch, dinner, dessert…then realised I don’t even have time to prepare dinner nowadays courtesy of the infamous rush hour jams every where.  Imagine, it takes me 45 minutes to reach the nursery to pick up preschooler and another 45 minutes to and fro the babysitter’s house to pick up baby. By them time we reach home, it’s too late to cook so we usually buy back.

7. Search for sinfully wonderful cookie / cake recipes to bake and post up in my recipe site and then realised that I don’t have time to bake!

8. Have a hard-to-shake addiction to Hong Kong drama series – dammit, I must stop watching those drama series. It’s NOT healthy.

9. Be very irritable due to lack of sleep and extreme boredome – I am no longer as bored but still lack of sleep so yep, I am still very irritable.

10. Waiting for hubby to come home from work like a good li’l wife – NOT. More like he’s waiting for me to get back from battling the traffic jams. And he’s not the one picking up the kids because I have the baby car – as in the car with the baby seat.

    • We have to brave the jam, put up with few hours of sleep (or nap at night), always tired and feeling zombie in the day.
I’ve been through all those and worst still, I don’t drive.

You are a strong person – Still have time to blog.
I’ll slumber by then. Cheers :D)
