When…
1. You couldn’t find your car because you can’t remember where you parked it
2. The baby (a relative’s child or a friend’s child) you used to croon over is now attending college
3. You get invited to your friend’s children’s graduation parties
4. You are now officially ‘mak cik’ / auntie / ‘pak cik’ / uncle or worse, ah poh / ah pek.
5. It is easier and faster to pull out the black hair than the white ones
6. Your whole body, especially your skin, is now suddenly susceptible to gravity
7. What’s supposed to be soft is now hard and what’s supposed to be hard is now soft.
8. No amount of SKII or any miracle lotion can erase all those lines and grooves that suddenly appears on your face, body…everywhere!

9. You are introduced to liver spots!
10. You go around telling young people “listen to me because I’ve eaten more salt than you eat rice”.
Me? I’m still young. Why, I just turned 18 yesterday. Bwahahahahahahaha…

Aging
The fear of life
To some maybe
Aging
The years of experiences
The knowledge in store
Aging
The light in darkness
Religion beckons
The way it was
Dreaming of years past
The roads travelled
The sound of forgetfulness
Ringing in the mind far away
Every step thinking the best
Aging
Time for change
No cream no pill no immortality
The dream of youth
The years gone plenty
Now only look beyond
The whirring echo
Of time gone away
Aging no escape any way
Caravanserai: I guess it’s one of basic human nature to fear getting old as it means getting near death’s door.
