Okay, so the stupid BN government does not care about what the general Malaysians think about the draconian, inhuman ISA but obviously, the top Umno leadership couldn’t care less about what it’s coalition members think too according to Malaysiakini:

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said today the controversial Internal Security Act (ISA) would not be subjected to any review.

- Malaysiakini

This statement was made despite the fact that both MCA and Gerakan had asked for the ISA to be reviewed. What I really don’t get is how daft these two coalition parties’ leaders could be? First, the Gerakan puppet asked BN to consider reforms:

Koh said other areas of reforms should cover the Internal Security Act (ISA), Printing Presses and Publications Act (PPPA) and the University and University Colleges Act (UUCA).

- Malaysiakini

But it was ignored. It wasn’t even genuinely given a cursory glance (metaphorically speaking). Then the second puppet decided to voice up too:

According to him, the party had tabled a resolution on the ISA, which has been used by the government to detain civilians including political foes for indefinite periods of time without trial.

Delegates unanimously passed the resolution, which sought a review of the Act plus the provision of an oversight mechanism so as to ensure that the law would be used only against “terrorism and subversive elements”.

“The party leadership will pursue the matter through the Barisan Nasional supreme council,” Ong added.

- Malaysiakini

This too was categorically brushed aside, much like you’d brush aside an annoying buzzing fly and promptly ignore the pesky thing. Of course, they have yet to reach for the fly swatter but I won’t be surprised if Ridsect were to come into the picture one of these days. From the looks of things nowadays, anything is possible. What more, we do have plenty of insect killers available.

As if these ‘impassioned’ (or is it mostly half-hearted and merely for show?) calls were not enough, the MCA suddenly take it upon their tiny minuscule brains that they should have the number two position.

Tan, a former Bagan Lalang assemblyperson, urged party leaders to hold talks with Umno to secure the deputy premier post, which he argued would help expedite reforms and allow MCA to head cabinet committees.

- Malaysiakini

Talk about dreaming in broad daylight. I didn’t know that they serve alcoholic drinks during their AGM as this guy must obviously be drunk to moot this idea. Or he is simply delusional. Or hallucinating. Just think, you piddly calls for ISA review, which has nothing to do with grabbing their posts, are flat out ignored. And you think they’d give you the number two post just like that?

I mean what drugs are you one? Or did you have too much whisky? Or, once again, this is another attempt to impress the other members, eh?

I feel all these calls for ISA review by the BN coalition parties are probably done to impress their fellow party members, nothing more. These are not genuine calls for the Act to be reviewed. If they are really serious about wanting an ISA review, they should have done something more concrete like putting their foot down and cooperating to push the top leadership to do something.

But as far as I can see, they are merely talking big. All noise but no real actions. Obviously, it is only for show. Heard of the proverbial empty can? Yep, it makes the loudest noise.

And finally, I simply could not agree more with this statement:

“It looks as though Prime Minister Abdullah and Umno are not learning lessons from the past,” political analyst Khoo Kay Peng told Malaysiakini. “They just don’t get it, not even after the March 8 general election.“

- Malaysiakini

Seriously, the quality of our ministers nowadays are worse than uneducated kampung idiots and I am glad to see this news in Malaysiakini to counter Syed Hamid Albar’s idiotic statement on citizenships for Sabahans being a privilege.

I mean, where does Syed Hamid Albar gets off anyway? So, now it is a privilege for Sabahans to be considered as Malaysian citizens? What next? The rest of us should thank our lucky stars that we are ‘granted’ citizenship despite the fact that we are born in Malaysia and our forefathers have been in Malaysia for several generations? So, now natives of Sabah should be grateful that they are given this ‘privilege’ of citizenship in Malaysia?

What utter nonsense is this? Am I glad that there are at least some voice with common sense to tell Syed Hamid Albar that he is wrong.

The Home Ministry has no power to grant or withdraw citizenship from Sabahans as that would contravene the Malaysia Agreement and the Federal Constitution, said Sepanggar MP Eric Majimbum.

“It is the law that determines whether a local Sabahan is a citizen and it has been agreed in the Malaysia Agreement and the Federal Constitution that all Sabahans are citizens,” said Majimbum in a statement.

- Malaysiakini

Well, dear stupid Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar, let me tell you about privileges and the real meaning of privileges:

1. It is a privilege that you are elected as an MP, NOT a right and NOT a given

2. It is a privilege that you are now a Home Minister but it is NOT permanent

3. It is a privilege that people voted for you but you have to PROVE yourself competent to enjoy this privilege

4. It is a privilege that your party, Umno, is now the governing party BUT that can change anytime

5. It is a privilege that BN is the government as this also CAN CHANGE anytime

6. It is a privilege that you are being mentioned in this blog, eventhough not for all the right reasons

7. It is a privilege that the media bothered to publish whatever rubbish you say BUT so far you have misused that privilege to spout nonsense

And let me tell you what is NOT your right

1. It is not your right to ‘grant citizenship’ to Sabahans who ARE CITIZENS based on the Malaysia Agreement and the Federal Constitution.

2. It is not your right to withdraw the citizenship of Sabahans who are RIGHTLY citizens based on the Malaysia Agreement and the Federal Constitution.

What really irks me is this statement:

Syed Hamid also said his ministry had granted citizenship to Sino-Kadazan Yong Lee Hua @ Piang Lin, 78, because she was a ‘genuine case’.

- Malaysiakini

Blardy hell, he thinks EVERYONE wants to be a citizen of Malaysia? What with idiots like him in the government, we’d be lucky that Malaysians aren’t making a mass exodus from the country not because the country sucks but because of leaders and ministers in the likes of Syed Hamid Albar!

So now it is a privilege for the government to grant citizenship to the real bumiputras as in this case, Yong Lee Hua is a Sino-Kadazan, definitely one of the original people of Sabah?

And they are still wondering why March 8 happened. In the meantime, my favourite kampung pakcik made a funny joke today:

Have faith in Najib, ignore Altantuya allegations: PM

- Malaysiakini

Wahahahahahahahahaha…don’t know which is worse…the sleepy stupid pakcik or Mr C4 Mr I-Have-Never-Met-Altantuya…anyway, just check out Malaysiakini lar if you wanna know more about what Mr Sleepy said.

I know I am going to draw a lot of unhappy Anwar supporters’ scorn for writing this post but I don’t really care. As I’ve said so many times before, I am apolitical, as in I do not take any political sides. I say it as it is and yes, sometimes I may sound pro-PR or even pro-BN but I take no sides. I don’t care for BN at all because of their dirty politics and I don’t care for PR at all because of their equally dirty politics. Yeah, yeah, I know, all politics are dirty.

As a Malaysian first and foremost and the third generation of pendatang, I feel all this racial tension raised by the respective political parties is far from tasteful and mature. Practically childish, moronic and stupid, if you asked me. And these are political leaders…. Surely, 4-year-olds can behave better than this bunch of hooligans.

Then here comes Anwar Ibrahim promising the moon, the sky and the universe to all and sundry and confidently stating that he will topple the useless BN government by getting froggies to join PR by Sept 16, a mere 6 days from today. And today, he has said he may have to defer the date.

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said he may have to defer his Sept 16 deadline to form a new government given that the Barisan Nasional had recently sent a large team of backbenchers to Taiwan on an agricultural study trip.

- Malaysiakini

Whatever the date, is it even right for Anwar to take such a step? What is democracy if it means a politician can get the ruling party’s frog-wannabes to hop over so that that politician can topple the current government? Is that democracy? Do we even get a choice in this matter? Can we even voice out and say, err, no thanks, I don’t want a change in government?

Nope. We don’t. So, just like the very people he has scornfully said to be corrupted and not respecting of the people’s wishes, he is doing the exactly same thing.

Sure, a lot of Malaysians want to see some change now since there are a lot of anger on the ground against BN. After all the BN did screw up big. But anger as anger goes, many people lose sight of the bigger picture.

Is it even good for the country to have froggies for MPs?  So, today, 30 MPs may hop over to PR and Anwar will go on to form a new government. And what is stopping other MPs from PR from hopping over to BN to topple the new government and give it back to BN?

Do remember it can work both ways. And then what? We get a new government every six months? And just imagine the repercussions of such political instability. Anwar is already working his magic. Loudly announcing his plan to topple the government may not be best for the people as a whole.

This is my reasoning…

Outsiders will see Malaysia as a highly unstable country with political instability and possible racial clashes.

Investors will see the exact same thing and become worried.

Now, if I am an investor with billions to invest, which country do I choose? A country with a stable government and no threat of clashes and toppling of government or a country with a possibility of its government being toppled, racial clashes and etc?

Of course I’d go for the country with a stable government to protect my investments.

Now, investors who are already here are getting more worried by the day. If Anwar was to form a new government, will it affect their business? What are the new government’s policies? Just look at the share market. All is not well nowadays. It absolutely reflects how the investors feel about the current political turmoil in this country.

And who will suffer in the end? It is us, the people. We are the ones who will lose our jobs, endure pay cuts, get retrenched, pay for higher costs of things.

So, is it even right for Anwar to forcibly take over the government? Even though he did not use brute force to do it but he is doing it through undemocratic means anyway. Heck, you want to be the government wait for general election lar. Or better still, get those froggies to resign as MPs and then contest in by-elections and let the people choose.

Then it will be the people’s choice. But it seems like Anwar is still going full steam ahead, regardless:

“After discussing with PAS and DAP, the date can be postponed even though our target was Sept 16 previously,” Anwar said in a speech at his home last night.

- Malaysiakini

Though I do really want to see a change and yes, I am also angry with BN, I seriously feel that Anwar should not be doing it this way. It will only make the country look unstable and scare away investors and with this, drag our economy down. This is our rice bowl we are talking about here, not merely politics.

Sigh. All this turmoil is actually quite saddening. To think that after 50 years we are still just a bunch of greenies still wet behind the ears and the people suffer because of its immature political leaders.
