I know some of you regular readers must be wondering why the two-days silence in this blog when I’ve been quite consistent in blogging on a daily basis.

Well, wonder no more.

I have started my campaign to be elected as the next Prime Minister come the next general election. There’s no better time to start but NOW! After all, we never know when they decide to dissolve parliament and call for general elections.

So, here’s my campaign speech:

Dear Malaysians,

Aren’t you all tired of being told what NOT to do and if you even step out of line, you’ll be thrown into a detention facility without a fair trial?

Aren’t you all tired of being told that there is equality amongst races and sexes but yet there are decisions like rewarding men RM1,000 to take on a single mother as his second wife, much like encouraging him to adopt an abandoned pet from the animal shelter?

Aren’t you sick and tired of all the lies and fabrications of how a set of screwdrivers do cost RM300 instead of RM30?

Aren’t you sick and tired of all those overseas trips, holiday homes, purchase of white elephants overseas and frittering away of public funds in the name of ‘study trips‘ and ’sports programmes’?

Aren’t you tired of being told that the local economy is blooming when we have a very real world financial crisis looking upon us?

Well, you can make a difference!

Vote Foong for PM

Vote Foong for PM

Vote for me and I will make sure…

Idiots do not sit in the cabinet

Public funds are used to benefit the public and nothing else

The first major project is to go all out to eradicate the hardcore poor, especially in rural areas in BOTH east and west Malaysia

ISA can only stand for I Support All

Kamunting is turned into a ‘country resort’ for those who love it so much

Women are treated fairly and NOT ostracised and considered as the weaker sex

All races are treated fairly, no quota system exists and may the best one leads!

The economic situation is taken seriously and measures taken to solve it all

The people’s opinions matters and are seriously considered

Religious freedom is GUARANTEED

Freedom of speech is GUARANTEED

Bloggers can blog whatever they want and not be worried about infringing any ridiculous act

Human rights is FULLY respected and not ignored

Yep, I give you all these promises and more. All you need to do is vote for me to be the country’s first woman AND Chinese Prime Minister!

Oh, and I’ll be an independent candidate. No ties to any political party.

Still have not found a logo yet…any suggestions anyone?

I don’t know about you but when I read this piece of news, I could not help myself from laughing out loud.

Not in merriment.

Not in joy.

Most definitely not in happiness.

But due to the absolute ridiculous notion of it.

Now, I am all for having a Prime Minister from the minority groups but heck, reality check please.

ALL of our PM have been Umno presidents.

Every.

Single.

One.

We were NEVER given the chance to choose our Prime Minister. Period. We only get to vote our MPs and ADUNs. NEVER the Prime Minister. It is the ruling party that decides.

Hell, I don’t remember voting for Najib to be the next Prime Minister and yet he is slotted to take over the helm from Pak Lah. You call that democracy?

So, please, will someone explain to me this phrase?

PUTRAJAYA: It is possible for anyone from a minority group to be a nation’s leader, even in Malaysia, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi.
It is up to the people to decide, just as the Americans had done through the democratic process,” he said while extending his congratulations to Senator Barack Obama.

[source]

Either he has lost his marbles or I am seeing things! I don’t remember voting for Najib or even Pak Lah for that matter. What blardy fu*king democracy is he babbling about?

Now, excuse me while I make preparations to campaign for the Prime Minister post of Malaysia. Do vote for me, okay?

I remember hearing about the RAHMAN theory back in school by our history teacher to make it easier for us to remember our prime ministers (back then, it was only till Mahathir) and when I read this article in Malaysiakini about this, it reminded me again of this theory.

So, will this theory come true? Does this mean, Najib, who is already slotted to be the next Prime Minister by March next year, will truly become our prime minister? After all, his name will complete the RAHMAN theory.

The RAHMAN theory - pix from Malaysiakini

The RAHMAN theory in determining our Prime Ministers- pix from Malaysiakini

Even as Malaysiakini tries to delve into the past and find out the person behind the RAHMAN theory in determining the next Prime Minister of Malaysia, there were plenty of guesses but no concrete answers. Does this mean that, based on this theory, Anwar Ibrahim will not be able to take over the government since his name starts with an A and the next in line must be someone whose name starts with an N?

Or perhaps, Anwar will only make his move after the RAHMAN theory is complete? As in after Abdullah hands over to Najib. Of course, there are also those who will ask. So, now that the RAHMAN theory is complete, what next?

Indeed. What next? The upheavels in Malaysian politics in recent times proved to be indication enough that gone are those days when people will blindly believe and be loyal to the government of the day. Gone are the days when people are ‘kia chenghu’ (scared of the government) because they know, they are the ones in power. Our power lie in our votes although there are still many who don’t know it…but I digress. Let’s go back to the RAHMAN theory.

According to Malaysiakini:

Pengamat-pengamat politik itu bagaimanapun semuanya tidak dapat mengesan tarikh tepat ia mula diperkenalkan tetapi umumnya bersetuju ia muncul pada zaman 1980-an, awal pentadbiran perdana menteri keempat Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

(translation: The political analysts could not trace the exact date that this theory was introduced but it was generally agreed that it made its appearances during the 1980s, early in the administration of the fourth prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.)

Wow…I didn’t know it was that recent. I had thought it was introduced way before Mahathir’s time. So, who started it? No one knows. Amongst the theories:

- Malaysiakini

(translation: Siasah chief editor Mohd Sayuti Omar believe the Rahman theory was started by political writer Ikhwan Nasir in the Mingguan Tanah Air tabloid in the middle of that decade.

“It could be that he started it. He likes using acronyms like ‘jubir’ for jurubicara rakyat and kadun for Kawasan Dewan Undangan Negeri”, he said.)

Whatever the origins, I am sure many are hoping that this RAHMAN theory does not mean a single thing. Sure, it may be easier for students to remember their prime ministers up till A but as for N, it may not even happen. A lot of things can happen within the next few months. We never know.

Of course, theories like this aren’t exact sciences. It may just be one big coincidence. And N may not happen.

Just look at all the controversy and scandal surrounding the person who is supposed to fulfil this N especially the recent one:

Another scandal appears to be hovering over the Defence Ministry and this time it concerns the purchase of helicopters to replace the armed forces’ aging and accident-prone fleet of Nuri aircraft.

- Malaysiakini

What say you? Is the RAHMAN theory a fluke and illogical as stated here:

“Syed Hussein, juga popular dipanggil Pak Habib, berkata “teori ini tidak logik.”

- Malaysiakini

Me, I just think it made it easier for me to remember the order of our prime ministers back in school. As acronyms go, it is just meant to make us remember things easier and not a prophecy or anything. Wanna know more theories behind this theory? Check it out here in Malaysiakini.
